More edge nibbling...

Wicked Lady
Another small corner of chaos and STUFF gone forever!

This morning I collected up all the discarded clothing lolling about in heaps waiting to be sorted and put it in a hold all for the charity shop.
I dumped the bag of cloth scraps from the sewing in the hall by the front door...
I moved all the surplus bed linen from the box in the bedroom to a plastic sack for the charity shop and dumped that beside the door...

Himself and t'Stapping Lad(TM) shifted the bags out to the car when they took t'Stapping Lad(TM) off to do his shift in the pub.

That's a whole cubic meter of stuff I never need to deal with again!  Yay!

And earlier in the week I'd dumped two large boxes of packing materials from things I bought on ebay in the car and they took them down the dump!

Himself did all the backlog of ironing, so we don't have Ironing Mountain leering at us from wherever.

I made them deal with their crates of shoes!  They are no longer in the conservatory needing to be Rubiked every time w try to do anything.  I have some customer fabric to deal with, and then the customers projects can be wrangled with a lesser degree of Rubiking.  NOT looking forward to ironing 10 meters of linen for period shirts and chemises, but it needs to be done.

Today I am hopin to tackle the filing cabinet: I need to get it moved down next to my desk, so I can file the home and business stuff and get rid of the heap beside my desk.  Once that is gone, I can clean out the little chest of drawers and trundle it through to the dining room and fill it with the herbs and spices.  This will make them much more accessible and easirt to use than in the stacking boxes they live in now...

And I need to make marzipan and start decorating the Christmas Cakes!

Impressive! (...and sort of exhausting to read and contemplate!)
Huzzah, you!

I've got to do some sorting, too, but mostly for right now I need to be working away in the sewing room. Just getting a load of fabric sewn up into the designated projects for which those lengths of yardage are intended will make for a significant sorting and reduction!

Himself and I added half a cubic yard of t'Strapping Lad(TM)'s out-grown books to the pile in the car. They have all gone to Demelza along with the scraps, clothing and bed linen.

I then did the grocery shopping and a little Christmas shopping.

Next up is fish pie for dinner, and then the marzipan and filing cabinet... No, I won't be marzipaning the filing cabinet, though one day soon it might get a coat of cream coloured Hammerite! I think I may sit on the floor and sort the stuff into the filing drawers while the telly entertains me in the background this evening - IF I can get the blokes to bring it downstairs for me!

I threw the duvet and underblanket out of the little room, and they are marching through the wash in the background.

If it wasn't so dark and wet out, the blokes could be shifting another load of decorating stuff up the shed out the way... I dare say they'll want them back to fix up the little room for the office any day now - and the less convenient for me the better! ;)

Marzipaning the fish pie would be infinitely worse than marzipaning the filing cabinet.

"The little room..." I need a diagram, preferably one of those 3-D types which lets me see the room and its contents.

Sorry, you've lost me on the very last paragraph.... What will the blokes be wanting to fix up the little room for the office any day now? ---and you're joking about that convenience business, right?

'The blokes' are Himself and t'Strapping Lad(TM)! :)

Himself is having the little bedroom that t'Strapping Lad(TM) moved out of as an office. The glow-in-the-dark spacemen on the walls really need painting over. t'Strapping Lad(TM) was about seven when I painted the murals, and they are a bit grown out of! It's about 8' by 5' 11" plus a bit for the door, and has some shelves and a high level bunk. I need to get Himself out of the dining room by Christmas! So he may well be painting this week while I am trying to work and finish off all the Christmas preparations... And right now he's also rebuilding my ironing board...

The filing cabinet is now in place, sans marzipan!

I had "the blokes" figured out correctly! :^D

What had me adrift was who was wanting the blokes to do what and with what, for what, and when and how.

But I think that's clear, now. ;^)

It feels so good to get rid of stuff! Sounds like you've accomplished a lot!

Getting rid of clutter feels really good. I tossed a whole large bag of papers that are out of date or just plane rubbish, and filed the rest! Yay!
